Includes letters, 1732-1738, of John Carter, Charles Carter, and Landon Carter, regarding the estate of Robert "King" Carter, financial matters, tobacco, and the slave trade; and letters, 1755-1768, of Charles Carter regarding the administration of the plantation Corotoman, financial matters, and tobacco. Also includes accounts, 1775-1782, for cash, the purchase and hire of slaves, taxes in Richmond, Caroline, and Westmoreland counties, Va., and the purchase of dry goods, grain, tobacco, horses, and livestock; and entries, 1782, for the measurement and sale of corn.
